I’m looking for honest reviews for my new paranormal/mystery novel “THE SHIP”.

So far I’ve had 4 reviews on Amazon (all of them 5 star ratings), but I’ve only had one on Smashwords and over at Goodreads.com.  I really would like to see more, since most prospective readers like to see what others are saying about a new book.

So, in order to get them I’m offering 5 free E-Book copies through Smashwords. You’ll be able to get your copy via a coupon I code I will be supplying any volunteers with.

For those who are not completely familiar with Smashwords, they have the following e-book formats avialable: (Nook, Kindle, Apple, Sony, and PDF). You’ll have 1 month to read the book and provide a review on Smashwords and if you happen to have a Goodreads account, I would love to see it posted there as well.

BACK COVER SYNOPSIS OF THE NOVEL:

Take care and keep writing.

My Latest Review… REBECCA

NEW BOOK REVIEW…

Today I present you all with Daphne Du Maurier’s classic “REBECCA”.  A 5-STAR read in my opinion.  This is one of the best modern-day gothic novels that I’ve ever read and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good gothic mystery.  Read on my friends…

“Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again…”

These few simple words open Daphne du Maurier’s legendary novel “Rebecca”. A hauntingly beautiful tale of love, revenge, and desperation.

For me, it is a ghost story where the ghost never appears. Instead the lead heroine is haunted by the shadow of her new husband’s first wife, Rebecca. Everyone loved Rebecca, especially the housekeeper who runs Manderley with a seemingly iron fist.

Our heroine finds herself wandering the halls where Rebecca walked with grace and dignity. Her unseen predecessor’s mark is everywhere, including on Max her husband. Everyone speaks of Max and Rebecca’s love and devotion to each other. And it is this undying love that makes it impossible for Max to bear to see or hear anything about his dearly beloved dead wife. Or is it?

Mysteries abound within the walls of Manderley. Especially on one fateful night when a ship is wrecked in the cove near the great manor. As the rescuers search for survivors of the damaged vessel, they make a terrifying discovery. The boat that Rebecca had sailed on is found at the bottom of the cove with a body still inside it.

However, Max had positively identified Rebecca’s body some months earlier when it had washed ashore some miles up the coast. So who’s body has been found and why is Max suddenly acting like a cloud of doom over his head.

What hold does the dead Rebecca have over him? And can it be dispelled once and for all?

The twists and turns in Daphne du Maurier’s classic tale, set in the 1930’s, is beyond reproach. A modern day tale with all the trimmings of a true gothic tale, this book is one that the reader will find hard to put down.

A true classic and worth reading again and again.

ON THE HORNS OF A DILEMMA…

My life has grown more complicated and I need you my readers to help me decide a course of action to take.

Yesterday, I attended  an Orientation for the California State University of Monterey Bay, which I will be entering this Fall.  I will be pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Collaborative Health and Human Services.  The plan is for me to attend for 3 full years instead of just 2.  This will allow us to continue residing on campus in very comfortable housing, provided I take 12 units a semester.

However, a wrinkle occurred yesterday when I signed up for classes.  I wound up with 15 units because there were certain classes I HAVE to take before the Spring semester, so I had to bite the bullet on this semester. Future semesters will be kept to 12 or so units.

This greater workload now presents me with a dilemma.  Originally, I was planning to get the first installment of “THE VAMPYRE BLOGS” out this December.  Unfortunately, I’m hearing form various folks who have recently read “THE SHIP” and are eager for me to continue with the characters from this part of the series (Cassie, Julie, Alex and Veronica).  The next installment of their story “THE DOOR” will wrap up a number of plot lines that have been running throughout the first 2 books.  “THE DOOR” will not mean an end for these characters by any means. I’ll be using them more, but the major underlying sub-plot which involves a white-haired individual and the secret of Brandon would finally be explained.

On the other hand, I know there’s a growing crowd eager for “THE VAMPYRE BLOGS”, however that story line seems to be growing even bigger than I originally planned and may have to be told in 2 or more installments.  Originally, I had planned to unveil “THE VAMPYRE BLOGS” this December, but with it growing larger and larger I’m not sure I can keep this deadline.

This brings me to a dilemma. Knowing I’ll have less time to work from August to December, which book should I concentrate on?

Both “THE DOOR” and “THE VAMYPRE BLOGS” are part way finished. Which one would you all like to see come out this December? Please leave your comments below and help me decide, thank you.

Looking forward to hearing your input.  Until next time, keep writing…

WELCOME TO THE PARA-EARTH SERIES…

When I began writing  I wanted to create something new and different.  Something that could become an ongoing seriese, with recurring and new characters that would take the reader’s imagination to new places and introduce new concepts.  The result was the Para-Earth Series:  a unique blend of horror, paranormal mystery, with a science-fiction twist that would make the Twilight Zone proud.

Through these tales, I introduce both my characters and the audience to a whole new vision of Parallel Earths unlike anything you’ve seen before.  I hope you’ll join me on this journey as together we discover beings and realities found only in dreams.  The door is open and you are always welcome…

This review is from: The Bridge: Something waits (Para-Earth Series) (Paperback)

A great book and relatively easy read. It took me 2 or 3 chapters to get into the story but once I was hooked I never looked back. The characters are dynamic and I found myself fully invested in the story line. Looking forward to reading Allan Krummenacker’s next book.

“THE SHIP” Will Come In To Dock On May 23rd…

That’s right gang.  The second installment of the Para-Earth Series is coming to an e-reader near you very soon.

“THE SHIP” takes place during the month-long interlude mentioned in the Epilogue of “THE BRIDGE”.  If you haven’t read that book, no worries.  “THE SHIP” is a novel that stands on its own.  Enough references are made to the previous story to bring you up to date without recapping the entire first book, while at the same time adding to the new story.

Within these pages you’ll meet Cassandra Elliott, billionaire heiress to a hotel and shipping empire, and her new love interest Julie Cloudfoot a Seneca shamaness.  The two have come to the shores of Santa Cruz to bring the ashes of Julie’s uncle to his children who live out here.  While paying their respects, Cassie and Julie are also trying to learn more about one another.  Their romance is still in its fledgling stage and both are eager to see whether or not they can make it as a couple.

However, unknown to both, danger is closing in from two directions.  One is a mysterious white-haired man who seems to appear and disappear at will.  He has been stalking Cassandra for the past year and has definite plans for her psychic abilities.  But before he can act a new threat arises from the sea.  One with connections to both Cassie and Julie’s ancestors.  A ghostly vessel that marks Cassandra for its next target…

“THE SHIP” will be available for Kindle, Nook, Apple, Sony and other e-readers.  It will also be available in PDF form for laptop and desktop computers, as well as in print in Trade Paperback form.  So mark the date May 23rd, to get the second installment of the Para-Earth Series.

THE SHIP - COVER Final

Well gang, I’ve got one week left in my Kickstarter for getting “The Ship” professionally edited. Right now it’s sitting at 55% funded. $330.00 have been pledged, but there’s still another $270.00 needed to make the goal.

Will it happen? I don’t know. If it doesn’t, then it’s back to the drawing board and try to do the best I can with my backup team and the release date will be pushed back again. Not my favorite option, but whatever will be, will be.

If you want to make a pledge there’s still 7 days left. No monies change hands unless the goal is met. Remember, pledging is like reserving your own copy of the book. Everyone who pledges will be receiving either an e-version or a paperback depending on the level you can pledge.

THE SHIP - COVER Final

Well, with 2 weeks left, it looks like my Kickstarter is going to fail. Really bad timing on my part I’m afraid. I’ve gotten a number of compliments on the video I did for it. But, it just wasn’t the right time to do something like this.

So what’s going to happen if it fails? Simple, I’ve assembled some more people I can trust to help me edit the upcoming book ourselves. My current Beta-readers are telling me they’ve seen a big improvement in my writing style compared to my first novel. They say I’ve matured and the editing problems they’ve seen are much fewer. I seemed to have learned a lot from my first go and they are still reading the first draft. So, that says a lot I think.

One of them is a published author and is going to come and stay with us in January and we’re really going to go over the entire 2nd book and do some serious editing together. I hope the final result will be really pleasing to all.

To the editor I had lined up, all I can say is. We’ll see what happens on the next one. I still want to work with you, but finances are just not going to let it happen just yet. Fingers crossed that the efforts me and my team put in help to make “The Ship” a big success.

In the meantime, here’s the link for the Kickstarter. After all there’s still 2 weeks left. If it happens great, if it doesn’t, at least you all know I have a back up plan. Enjoy the holiday season everyone.
